My hubbie launched Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot yesterday from 9.30am to 12 noon at PrairieCon in Brandon, Manitoba. See http://zenzombie.com/category/news/. One set of t-shirts had arrived but the other (better made set) I guess are stuck in customs. But my boys had a great tome at the games conference demoing the game which can now be bought online.

My son (Powder Monkey Black William Flint) yesterday went round the Apple store in Edmonton loading up the following page on every apple product he could lay his hands on. See http://zenzombie.com/category/news/. He seems to really like the game James and Aidan designed. While working out the steps for the computer player online version we were playing with cut up pieces of paper. For the ninja my son had dressed up as a ninja; and the pirate, was of course a picture of me dressed as Ma Kettle.

I am still not really allowed to say anything but at PrairieCon my husband and two friends are launching a card game that includs pirates. The online version should follow about a month later.

Pirate Party UK

The Pirate Party UK's Blog entry post election (I found it interesting and so here is part of it. Dated 7th May 2010 by John Barron)

"After a lot of hard work on all sides, we've just fought our first election as the UK pirate party. Across 9 seats, by my calculations we polled 0.34%, for a total of 1340 votes. Our best result was in Manchester Gorton, where our candidate Tim Dobson polled 236 votes for 0.62% of the vote. Before this election, we didn't know what level of support we could expect. Nor did we know how to organise ourselves, or how to navigate the election requirements and comply with the law. So this has been a tremendous learning experience for everyone involved ..."

Cities of London and Westminster

If you wondering what happened in the Cities of London and Westminster ward - Conservatives got in, but looking at the election results any area with people with money were voting in the blues.

For the two different pirate candidates, I thought you might like to hear how they did.
Jack Nunn of the Pirate Party UK got 90 votes (0.2 of the number of votes cast)
Mad Cap'n Tom the Independent candidate got 84 (0.2 of the number of votes cast)
So both candidates lost their deposits.

Pirate Party UK

For those who are interested in Great Britain's politics, there is a new political party on the scene. It was a year old a couple of days back and has ten candidates. The lucky constituencies are : - Worcester, Glasgow Central, Manchester Gorton, Leicester West, Derby North, Bury North, South West Surrey, East Ham, Bethnal Green and Bow and the Cities of London and Westminster.

Their policies are mostly about sorting out laws that need cleaning up, especially ones on piracy. On their website they list their three core policies to be reform copyright and patent law, end the excessive surveillance, and to ensure that everyone has real freedom of speech
with the last note that outdated laws must change.
